Backgammon Strategy
Backgammon game is basically a race where one takes off his own checkers first. Generally beginners never leave exposed checkers as they hit more frequently. As there is more chance for enemies to attack single checkers who are on a point, they must start over as soon as they are attacked by a rival. Checkers used for blocking or trapping an opponent can be two or more in number.
This kind of backgammon strategy is most illogical as learners do not leave their checkers exposed and strike back as repeatedly as possible. The distance between two points is not always a straight line. Some of the strategies that could be used for winning a game are distribution, exposure, blocking and priming, hitting and anchoring.
A backgammon player will achieve luckier dice than his strong opponent if his checkers are evenly distributed among the points occupied by him. If you control more points in your enemy’s home board you can play more boldly. You can confine your exposure to retain your lead if you are notably ahead in the race.
Attempt to raise points without break directly in front of the enemy checkers in your home board to avoid their escape. Aim to hit checkers that are the most advanced or checkers that your opponent would like to cover to ascertain a significant point. Hit only when it is beneficial to do so.
